Comment on the Clean-Up!!

It is my pleasure to report that the Greater New York Councils Service Day, on Saturday April 24th, was an overwhelming success! Over 1000 Scouts and Scouters provided thousands of hours of community service in over 24 New York City Parks. They planted thousands of trees (part of NYC Million trees program), cleaned beaches, planted flowers and collected trash. The Scouts in the Bronx were actually thanked personally by the NYC Parks Commissioner Adrian Benape.

I want to thank all the staff members who rolled up their sleeves and lent a helping hand alongside our volunteers, especially Julio Garcia, the staff Advisor to our service day. If you missed it, check out our Face book page for some pictures of our scouts providing a good turn.

Thankfully,

Chris
